It attempts to provide a conceptual framework upon which international relations can be analyzed. The three most prominent theories are realism , liberalism and constructivism. Many often conflicting ways of thinking exist in IR theory, including constructivism, institutionalism , Marxism , neo-Gramscianism , and others.
